And Then There Was One

My heart broke wide open today

Shattered beyond repair

I know now that I will never love again

Not the way I once shared

I look around and see the signs

An empty bed once again

Photos kept for a rainy day

Remnants of what once was

Landscaping still holds her imprint

Her scent lingers on my clothes

Songs scream out her name

Moments held in my mind

Where is she in the cold of night?

Do her eyes share my tears?

Will she ever find happiness?

Will I ever find her again?

Lonely and longing late at night

Remembering her soft voice

Loving her sweet caress

Missing her warm embrace

Sleep is filled with anguish

Days are filled with regret

Life is filled with sorrow

Death a welcome visitor

Condemned to a lifetime of yearning

Surrounded but lonely all the same

There's only one that can save me now

Will she ever find her way?
