Frustration

Her ears listened with a cat's interest

At the birds of my thoughts

As they fluttered clumsily

Past my faulty lips.

It was my mind's intent

To string its pearls of wisdom

And passion's soft petals

Upon the path of her heart

But what passed the pallet

And tripped over the tongue

Were mere mumblings

Forever falling aimlessly

Into the abyss

I wished I could find.

Very well put, and familiar in its content. I write much better than I speak.

This is extremely lovely language, and so well written on a topic everyone can relate to. "Her ears listened with a cat's interest At the birds of my thoughts As they fluttered clumsily Past my faulty lips." I really loved those lines....and this flowed so smoothly.
