So many years I tried
to write my perfect fairy tale,
but I always got stuck
at the ending.

I couldn’t script
a happily ever after;
the pages always fell apart.

I reworded every suitor
to work in my plot
because I was tired of waiting.

They knew I was forcing
them into my life
like puzzle pieces,
but they wouldn’t fit right.

So now I’m giving God the pen
and letting Him write the story
better than I ever could.

He knows everything I want
in my soulmate
without me even asking.

He crafted him just for me;
we were made for each other.

And when we are together,
all my silly attempts
at a happy ending
will be no match for our love.
