All I ever wanted was
somebody who would hold me.

Your green eyes found me
when I was vulnerable and lonely.

You saw the best in me,
and you kissed me like you loved me.

Then you saw the worst of me,
and I realized you were never mine.

Green means life but your eyes died
like leaves at the brink of winter.

I striped my soul bare,
and was left to freeze without you.
