I’ve started becoming preoccupied with death again

though I know I’ll be around in this life for a while.

Sometimes the Grim Reaper can be a fascinating creature.

He can draw you in with his twisted little smile.

There’s a difference between achieving world peace

and achieving that kind of peace you feel in your heart.

And there’s a difference between not using common sense

and not being able to show that you’re smart.

I spent the evening at home buried in a book

that made a lot of sense but was somewhat satirical.

So sit back, relax, and have another glass of wine

until the time that I perform my next miracle.



I’ve been able to find that quiet space again

and sometimes I really don’t want to come back out.

There are times when I feel I understand it all.

And there are times when I don’t know what anything’s about.

Sometimes your mind can be a nice place to visit

I wish that someday I could invite you to come into mine.

And if you asked me to share some of the space in your head

there’s no way I’d think that you were out of line.
