Throwaway Society

Throwaway Society

We don't need you, Where sorry to say,

You worked hard ,in your day.

You're a phone card, we bought ok

No contract,  no fee

In a resume sea.

Cut me up nice and neat

I'm not garbage, look at me.

Family, friends  and  harmony

But credit gone, not much fun,

When I'm on the bottom rung.

Have cold feet need to eat

Sad to say it's not just me,

In a throwaway, society.

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's hard to find a job that you can depend on these days.  All these temp agencies make people feel disposible and worthless.  It reminds of phone cards that run out and you just toss the old one and get a new one.

It's true times are very

It's true times are very difficult. But I also notice the work habits of many are not as they used to be either. I remember working as a waitress for 3.10 an hour and when tips were bad I was lucky I made 6 dollars an hour in 1997...but I was still really glad for that job and made it to work on my days...plus some. I don't know if it's just me maybe, but I don't see that anymore. Seems back then there were a lot of us.

...... good luck. I hope you find something soon!!!!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Real Life

I met a lady who worked at the same job for forty years - I know what you mean about a dependable job, a career is a strange thing mixed with lots of time outside, but here poverty is as common as high living on borrowed time and bank notes, the wealthy have ups and downs here too, we hear about it and think oh they got a stash. Maybe not - Such is life in the USA for many. Thoughtful write this ~Allets~
