Who I Am

I look down at the ice beneath my feet

I know there will soon be defeat

I try so hard to be a friend

I think I’m losing who I am

I live for their smiles

Their pain tears me apart

I know it’s worthwhile

So I just play my part

I wish for no pain to follow them

But I know it’s impossible

To believe the world is kind to them

It may be inevitable

I look down at the ice beneath my feet

I know there will soon be defeat

I try so hard to be a friend

I think I’m losing who I am

I hide me from my friends

They think I’m normal

I just find myself in the bends

Of fitting in the form

I realize that I’m not strong enough

To go through

All that makes me who they wish

I guess I’ll just stick to the form

I look at the ice beneath my feet

I know there will soon be defeat

I try so hard to be a friend

I think I’m losing who I am

Author's Notes/Comments:

This one I wrote while in tears because of my friends. It is still hard to read.
