Songs For The Deer

Folder:
Nature Poems

Arise today

With swiftness of the wind

Sunlight's full splendor

Awakens a radiant moon

treading on wooded paths

She quenches her thirst

at the next brook

fear in her eyes

panting breath

rising white

into the black night

going home

before the days grow long

dappled fawn lies hidden in leaves

As the stability of my pen

writes in soft, searching strokes

There is no human

in this deep wood

Hear, yet, the voices

Tree tops sing, songs for the deer
