theres a blank stare now

i know thats where your smile used too be

remember when we were children

of all we thought life would be

funny how theres so many things we didnt see

only time can tell the story

of how mean life can be

It never hit us that fairy tales are only dreams

things like this only happen

in what we call reality



there was the joy in your words

but then i remember those looming fears

and now the pain in your silence is so loud

you wanted too bring a new life in

but instead they've taken two lives away

we never imagined the world that way

dont know how they could make you do it

too think the culprits are called family

these stories are never told too they young

but are those that quickly age our souls

and have you staring there

i can feel the cold radiate

from where you once stood

a sacrifice too their golden image

funny how theres so many things we didnt know

sometimes i lie in bed

i stare out the window

and feel the spring breeze

thinking of how things used too be

and with every breathe the air makes

i pray for the day

it will be that way for you again

i know thats only a dream

But all i want is for you too be happy again
