Sisters, You and Me

I look him in his starry eyes

And see you staring back

When he smiles, you smile

When he laughs, I hear your voice too

I hold him in my arms, and feel the love between us

Like sisters, we are sisters

You and me

We been through a lot

You and me

You had something for me when I needed it, and I for you when you were short

You had my back when I needed it the most

And now I got yours

We don’t ask for assistance from one another

Don’t need to

A response is automatic

The ‘no problem’ is already a code in our brains

I would fight for, and you for me

Remember when…and that time when…

Yeah, we had it rough then

But sitting here, as he stares at me

You stare at me

And when he sleeps, I see your face

So much love in our little family

Not bound by blood, but by love only sisters know

Yeah, sisters

You and me

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is for someone I care very deeply for. She's been there for me through good times, bad times, and worse times. I hope she loves it as much as I love her.
