paved paradise

i imagine the garden of eden was earth before man started destroying it.
i think God meant for us to live in the forests.
even Jesus often went to the woods to call to Abba,
he felt most at home in the trees.
i feel a thousand miles away when i'm surrounded by nature.
it feels right.

we got kicked out for our own self-absorbtion.
like a fruit eating itself, we take resources and try to climb
an illusion ladder that can't fulfill
no matter hard we try.

the last patch of woods is shrinking in my neighborhood.
a new contractor bought the land,
every morning i hear construction noise.
i still go out and enjoy the trees,
but in about a year or two there will be no trails to walk,
no fallen trees to climb,
there won't even be firewood.
just tiny boxes, made of ticky tacky,
tiny boxes all the same.

my hope is in Jesus.
He promised me i will live again,
somewhere there is no death.
i don't know if heaven is a physical place,
but if it is, there's probably not much pavement.
it will be glorious.

This makes me feel nostaglia

This makes me feel nostaglia for days come to past. Where sunshine bleeds into the night. You've given me a fresh breath of Godly perspective. <3
