A Poem for Greg

Your voice fills my mind with

The shining warmth of your smile

Like the Arizona sun blazing

Across the red canyons in summer

How blessed I have been

To have ever known your beauty at all

To have seen the jewels in your eyes

And to have had those precious few moments

Holding you in my arms

When I could listen to the beat of your heart

Like the rhythm of a clock without hands

Measuring the infinite in delicate phases

Like a carousel

Turning me towards

The truth I don't want to face

That maybe I will need to lose you

In order to win

That maybe by letting you go

I will be able to have you always

Then I will hold your smile

in my sun forever

Then we will be man and husband

And I will marry myself to you

And give you the gift

Of all of my tomorrows

And place my heart in your heart

Like an infant placed

In the tender hands of God.

this is true heartfelt affection and love. Excellent work.
And YES it reflects the beauty and love with which it was written.
