Tomorrow We'll See What The Tide Has Brought In

The first day I met you was easy
like objects slipping out of my sweaty hand
It just happened to fall that way
I can't really compete with the universe
Or the manner in which it
decides to ruin me
My brain knows what's coming
It can compute and recognize icebergs that disguise as people
and my ship has sailed
Headed the opposite of land
Because land is safe
Welcoming
You are the big wide unknown abyss
And I am hell bent on dying feeling something
Rather than living and feeling nothing

I Imagine

The Pequod's crew saying something similar - I love sea imagery poems.
