I Wept in the Desert (incomplete)

Folder:
Incomplete

So many days spent

Wandering in the desert of my deceit

The memories of the last day

Blurring with the first

So long have my feet roamed

In the burning lands

The fires of desolation

Grains of tempation's sand

Clinging to my skin

From when I wallowed in its dunes

And cried in its heat

My pride drove me onward

Until my blistered flesh

Could stand to burn no more

Even the tears shed in my weeping

Singed my cheeks as they fell

Longing for the sun to set

Longing for the night to fall

The moon's sweet healing light

A relief to my bleeding skin

The boils and burns

Blisters and sores

The scars of my battles

To withstand the sand storms

My wounds cry their stories to the stars

Their tears rolling scarlet down my skin

And the precious jewels of the night

Watch in a helpless silence

Willing me to henceforth remember

It is not their power to heal

Not theirs but His

Oh, the voicless stars!

In return they weep tears of agony's rain

But even this rain in the desert

Turns no my stubborn mind to him

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is incomplete, I began it last night (May 18) on the way home from youth group. Lots of editing still to be done and it needs to be finished
