Misfortune

The light at the end

of the tunnel is blinding.

Cant’ see past the searing of skin.

My god, it burns.

Bathe me in the shadows.

Shade me in the darkness.

I found you here.

Hiding beneath the black

melting eyes stare through the cold.

Sweetness flows from you lips.

Kept here in the void of night,

you, forced into solitude by hindrance.

But I am here willingly,

in this forever starless midnight.

Your stigmatized soul locked here.

I found you inside the dark.

I found you within me.

So I’ll take the heat,

I’ll soak the sun and singe my skin.

To bring light back into your world

and life back to beautiful brown eyes…

…I’ll burn for you.
