Untitled

the pavement shines like silver
neath a streetlight's shimmer
from cloudless skies come raindrops
into my palm, to take a drink
Lightning without thunder
nights with nothing to dwell on
I put my lips upon your chalice
and the world falls away for a blink

branches sway in rhythym
the mighty trees dance with 'em
and I lay silently beneath 'em
waiting to see the storm explode
Twilight grows more distant
but dawn it seems stays put
a robin flies by my window
while my reality's riverbed erodes

a tarnished lamp post flickers
the bellowing breeze blows quicker
the season shifts with a howl
suddenly faded snowflakes fall
streets like arctic meadows
slowly fill with shadows
the towers too have been shrouded
candlelight alone ignites the halls

the storm bell's clamor dwindles
midnight martyrs paint symbols
beyond memory's salvation
hoping to find the time they've lost
A mountain shades the moonlight
the sky glows faintly
the dawn light strikes my window
and dances 'round my room through the frost
