Ghost Writing Destiny

Ghost Writing Destiny

you left so many empty spaces
within the whole of our truth
and without thought I filled them
with my all of my own
carefully constructed heartdreams
depicting a starcrossed scene
of two souls that had
survived the ages in wait
just to be there
in that moment where
we found each other
…once again

surpassing all limits
ignoring all boundaries
unable to deny the one true destiny
that was ours alone
…it had to be kismet

or so I desperately wanted to believe...

but somewhere within
the unsettling chill
of an early autumn's breeze
I began to lose
my soul-mate gaze

pausing beneath a whisper of indifference
I stared deep into your soul
and all things utopian dissipated
and I began to realize
-love is not a fairytale-
kismet dreams live only
within the pens of masterful poets
who write of dreams dreamt
by lovers of love
and believers of destiny

and you and I
though we were glistering stars
dusted beautifully
upon the canvas of night
…there was one big difference
we were both only there
to shine our own light

and here on the other side of revelation
I now know why the spaces were empty
there was not enough truth to fill them up with
there was only a kindle of wonder
dancing around the crave
of a lonely woman's heart
that stirred restless within
the endless mundane
of her discontent days
