Bright goblet dancing molten gold,

charming essence of the spring,

sweet daffodil whose countless fold

provides fit pageant for a king.



Finely robed in ice-white gown,

green ribbon round a scalloped hem,

porcelaine-fine, the dainty crown

of snowdrop, dripping from the stem.



Pert face that views with cheeky grin

this springtime seasonal display,

velvet robed from toe to chin,

bright pansy, multi-hued and gay.



Small violet, under forest lush

of leaves and stalks, peaks shyly out.

Rich, royal shade with modest flush,

it spreads its canopy about.



Pale blossom, prophet of the fruit,

dressing trees in soft delight.

Fairy flower in fragile suit

in colours, pastel pink and white.
