In your eyes I saw this heart of gold

That reached out and touched my sorrowed soul

The look in those eyes

When you softly stared

Was making me believe you really cared.

You proved it enough for me to know

That I should never again feel left alone

And over time it was more and more clear

You'd never be one for me to fear.



From where did you get these angel's eyes

That could open strong souls and make them sigh?



There's a mystery inside you that's so alive

You helped my heart and soul survive;

Bringing me out of the hole I was in

Removing my pain...

Replacing a grin.

How could I ever return all this love?

I can't see how anything would be enough.



But I'll never forget you as long as I live

Feeling this confidence - I have a lot to give

I'll find a soul in desperate need

Who's slowly allowing their heart to bleed

I'll mend that wound and set them free

The exact same way you've done for me.



So when the day comes, you decide to leave

Please know in my heart I do believe.....



That if I ever

So much as sigh,

Bend my strenth,

Break down and cry,

I'll never again feel I want to die

Because I'll always remember your angel eyes.
