A First Kiss

Perhaps you might recall the time

When passion still felt new.

Blossoming love was at its prime,

Preparing its debut.

Because of bashful innocence,

Feeling unsure confidence.

Surely love is something to pursue.

Remember now your first attempt,

That first impassioned try.

Thinking back who could have dreamt,

Would so preoccupy.

Kissing should be oh so simple,

Certainly not something sinful.

Nothing seems to help de-mystify.

An awkward moment, maybe two,

Feeling quite confused.

Then hesitating what to do,

What if your refused.

With sweating palms and fevered brow,

You plunge ahead not knowing how,

Praying bad behavior be excused.

Somehow complex things work out

When nature takes it course.

And lips on lips erase all doubt,

Assurance reinforced.

Your thrilling kiss so very new,

Possibly it’s her first too.

In any case your feeling no remorse.

A foundling at relationships,

At this point you’ve had none.

Yet realize there’s more than lips

that stimulate for fun.

Even though your  insecure

Your body’s acting quite mature

Experiments in love have just begun.

You are so descriptive! I felt I was reading a movie!
