Moonlight and Red Wine

His woman gazes out the window

bathed in the glow of the moon's light.

Wrapped only in a sheet of sky blue

pondering the magnificance of the stars.

The empty bottle of red wine next to the bed

has not diminished the desire for her man.

Might he be standing in the same moonlight

under these very same stars?

Climbing back into the bed, her mind wanders.

Cuddling up to the stack of pillows.

Its a small comfort as she drifts off to sleep.

With the whisper of his name on her lips....

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is another poem written from words suggested by a friend.  In this case the words (which ones, I don't remember) were supplied by Ted.  At the time, he was away on a business trip and told me he missed his wife. So, I wrote him this lil poem.   Hope you like it too.

Hi Kim,

This is a lovely, wistful poem. Very nicely written. A bit of romance akin to a fine old movie!

I do like it very much. It reminds me of someone....UH! Oh, yeah! ME!! But that was before I found Jim. LOL I like the way you have them both thinking of each other. It would be the pits any other way.
