GROWTH

I sit in the field, watching miles of Golden Horizon
Beside myself, a younger Me
She rests her eyes on a Tiny Flower
"There is only one Flower in this entire field" She said with exasperation
"and it is so ugly"

My gaze releases from the Horizon to the Flower
I examine it in what she perceived a pathetic state

with wilted leaves and faded pedals

but despite that still it continues to face the sun

"You are right" I smiled and turned to her

"It seems ugly at first. But although it might look tired,

it is the only flower to bloom in this field; it is strong

and that should be admired"

She looked again at the tiny Flower and she saw it anew

She smiled at it

then she quietly rested her gaze toward the miles of Golden Horizon

This was a dream of mine that inspired me to write about it.
