Remember

Remember that day, that horrible day?

The day many innocent lives were lost,

The day our personal security was destroyed,

The day a lot of tears were shed.

Tears of Happiness as loved ones found each other alive,

When each was together again,

Tears of grief, for those who were lost,

Tears of anguish, help was called, and

Tears for friends and co-workers, and those in danger.

More tears than you can imagine,

Enough tears to fill a sea,

The day our nation pulled together, to join in Unity.

As King Arthur and his Knights once said,

"United we Stand"

These words we must remember, for all eternity.

We should also remember, the name of our Nation,

United States.

Which means, in times of need,

We should call each other brother and sister,

It should not matter what race, religion, or color of skin.

Let U.S. be the United States.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem I wrote after September 11, 2003, when the Twin Trade Center Towers in New York City were hit by two planes flown by hijackers.
