CONTEMPLATION

As the end of my time draws near,

I contemplate my existence.

Have I made my presence felt;

Did I make a difference?

Was I an inspiration;

Make the world a better place;

Share myself,

Or just taken up space?

Give some comfort;

Dry the tears;

Share in joy and laughter,

Alleviate all fears?

Was I there with a shoulder to cry on,

To hug or just be near;

Offer words of encouragement

To one who needed to hear?

Was I a friend to all;

Show how much I care;

Change someone's perception;

An answer to a prayer?

Will my passing go unnoticed,

Or will I live on forever

A person to be remembered

Because of past endeavor?

Dear Jan, It is my belief that the soul
lives forever.. becoming closer and closer to
God in each new life..

Your poem is a beautiful reminder about the
central reason for existence
