My Shooting Star

Tonight I went outside

Just to look for one last sign of hope

I remembered you

I remembered that shooting star that night

I looked into the sky

I prayed to God

To send me one more shooting star

To prove this isn't done

I looked all around

I saw nothing but beautiful stars

I looked to the ground and wanted to turn away

Looked back up at the sky

As if to say

I will sure drown

If I do not see my shooting star of faith

Then I prayed to God

For one last sign of hope

For a future bright with you

That my dreams didn't go up in smoke

There in front of me

For all to see

Was a bright shooting star

And my worries faded away

Immediately satisfied

Tears ran down my face

Almost terrified

Of what I had just seen

A few more tears ran down

For I had seen my hope

I now know the road will be rough

But you will be with me in the end

Author's Notes/Comments:

Amazingly enough, this poem is 100% true.  I went outside to talk to God and because I wanted a sign of better things to come.  I remembered that I first felt love for her at the sight of that first shooting star.  I wanted another sent from God to show that everything will be alright in the end.  I looked up after 3 minutes of being outside and pleeding with God...and there it was, a bright, beautiful shooting star.  Much like the first I had seen that night walkin with Christine.  I believe there is something better in store for us.  Can't wait!
PS- David... isn't that just insaine?!
