Mr Gerhard Schroeder is the first white (legal brain) to lay worth on dialogue peace in politics.
He has been seconded by the French President Mr Jacques Chirac. There is no deny to this fact.

While Mr. Chirac and Mr. Shroeder were pleading for peace and talking peace, how many people died in Iraq by Mr. Hussein's direction. Were they really pushing for peaceful settlements, or protecting the oil deals the Mr. Hussein along with Mr. Putin. For the sake of argument how long do you negotiate for peace with a liar who will tell you what you want to hear while working on the weapons of your distruction. The only peace you will get from leaders like mister Hussein, will be the peace of the grave. Like during the years preceding the world wars, korea, Vietnam, while the politicians argued for peace people were dying. At what point must you say enough? When your world trade center is attacked? No. When? When an invasion force is landed on your shores and are indiscrimanantly killing your women and children? I cherish peace as much if not more than the next guy, but don't be so naive that peace and freedom do not come at a very high cost. The people of IRAQ were under constant fear of Saddam, now they are free, but like the children of Isreal complaining in the desert that Moses had brought them out of slavery only to die in the wilderness, they lament that we are not doing enough to protect them and restore services when it is there own people they want protection from. Give me a break. Had they laid down their lives and overthrew the government, they would still be in the same pickle, but like the westerners they want that instant gratification. After a war...any war...it takes time to restore infrastructure and rebuild a nation, maybe if they spent more time trying to rebuild, protect their wealth producing industries, and working with those that laid down their live for them, and stop complaining, our people could leave the country to them.

If you want peace and want it now, the only sure way is a bullet to your head and hope you don't miss and end up a vegetable.

Peace is not won with words but by the blood of world patriots. You can not deal with extortionist nations. You make it clear that you will not be extorted, but will make them pay dearly for their actions.

Peace is a wonderful ideal, but there are nations that will use peaceful rhetoric to keep you off guard while they prepare the means of your distruction.

As Teddy Roosevelt said, "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." I think he meant, that I will give peace a chance, but if you try to bully your way, then I will use the big stick to give you an attitude adjustment.

Sorry about the soapbox. You and I have gone around many times on this subject. Good work on the poem. Nice thoughts. Naive, but nice.

Peace is a wonderful thing, but there comes a time when the big stick has to be brought out to defend it.
