the stars are out
and all i see
are the tears of all
who pass on before me
each sparkle in the sky
reminds me of
each twinkle in
every sad eye
that has ever cried
i've never seen
so much pain
when i look at the stars
and even though
they seem so close
they are in fact away very far

i think i got something out of this other than your actual meaning, but that's the great thing about poetry. the many interpretations. anyhow, it seemed like you were saying you could relate to many others who have felt the same sadness as you. i like the metaphoric use.
