You lay Your eyes upon us

And see Your children

Instead of sinners.

My heart is crying out for You.



It aches as Your eternal goodness

Fills it with such pain.

Tears of joy in awe.

What a beautiful pain.



You set Your smile upon us.

In our agony, we see hope.

In fear, we found courage.

You are our comfort in the storm.



You are our refuge in our retreat,

A hero in our losing battle,

Because you are the healer of our pain,

It is a beautiful pain.



You walked and laughed with us,

Cried, suffered, and died for us.

You conquered all the pains of the world

And made all things more beautiful.



From now on every waking day let us see,

Every moment through Your eyes.

And today each time we smile let it be,

On earth a glimpse of You, our paradise.
