My Gods

My gods once lived in california

When the nights were cold

but the day was warmer

 

My god was love and loss and truth

A boy i met who looked like you

 

Everything seemed so big back then, 

the stars, the moon, the sky

But in between them all sat two, 

small and nothing, you and i

Revisiting this again, I find it even more impressive.  We do not have nearly enough poems from you; and I await upcoming posting with great anticipation.

I really love this poem.  And

I really love this poem.  And the poem demonstrates that the two, who may have seemed small and nothing, were actually significant enough to be included in a poem with this degree of greatness---much more than small and nothing.  This is one of the finest short poems I have read here in a long time.
