Lovers In The Park
late i sat there alone in the park
i was there from the morning
yet now it was dark
the light from the street lamps
all i could see. cold and creep
but i sat in thought - deep
something changed my mind tonight
after watching lovers in fight
purposely said words that caused pain
from soft kind love to an animal untamed
the yelling and screaming it was so tough
the tears she was streaming and he surely had enough
so useless was this fight
to make each other crawl
from hugging and kissing
to throwing away it all
slowly the words got softer
just to stop was his final offer
unsolved was their problems
and unfinished went their fight
he simply blew her a kiss
she walked home. alone.
with heartbreak that night
i watched each walk in different directions
hidden tears in their eyes
and unsatisfied affections
though good was her reason for feeling so hurt
she would fight and he knew
it was over her worth
soul mates they were
that stood on an edge that grew steeper
in sync with each other
but just two different people
every tiny bit she felt
she made sure she let him know
but he would hold it all in
unless vital he show
they continued to walk
down one and two different shadowy street
never to speak of that fight
not knowing when again the lovers would meet
he knew if together that night they would talk
he knew it was better if he'd continue to walk
but stuck in his mind was the face that she made
he thought up the if's
and he wished that he stayed
he pulled out his wallet
and stared at a picture
looked at a smile
a smile he could only make with her
away went his wallet
and back 'round the corner he ran
how he tried to catch up with her
ran as fast as he can
but he had lost sight of her beautiful face
started on back
wondered why he began that chase
in that moment out of the corner of his eyes
was a girl with such beauty
and unstoppable cries
he listened to her sobs
and a tear to his eye
it broke him inside
as he ran to her side
but to him she ran
what joy to see him to her run
he held her so tight
and the fight was all done
they cried in their arms
and he span her around
they kissed if as first
and disappeared without sound
I'm not sure what happened after
what the lovers did do
but i know that unconditionally he loved her
and she loved him that way too
and a tear to my eye their situation had brought
how could i have let you and i fought
the reason was stupid
because i was too blind to see
that I'm the only one
who makes you completely happy
so tonight as i lie here
alone in the dark
and hope we could be like
the lovers in the park
