Pluto in the Garden

Darling of Hades

Fireflies creed

Dip in the water

8 little seeds

Sweetheart of Hades

Fair as can be

Peek over the stones

What do you see?

Flower of Hades

Flames beckon you close

Dancing in torment

Too late to oppose

Angel of Hades

Missing the shore

Necklace of shells

A burden you wore

Beloved of Hades

Picked from the earth

Stood with a man

Absent of mirth

Jewell of Hades

Through crystal window

Crying for Mother

Cursing Pluto

Wife of Hades

Sense of beauty, indeed

Gave up the garden

For 8 little seeds

I generally have a hard time

I generally have a hard time getting through rhyme poetry, almost as much as I dislike pomegranates. However, you have a knack for keeping the reader’s attention. I love Persephone, and I loved reading this piece you wrote. I have not seen much rhyme poetry on postpoems that can compete with this type of finesse. Nice job.

I rarely write strict rhyming

I rarely write strict rhyming schemes like this anymore, but I thought for such a classic story it would be fitting. Persephone is my favorite myth and I loved playing with multiple versions when writing this. Thank you so much for the kind words, I really enjoy your poetry, both enchanting and romantic.
