Orders

Captain Costickson, Sean H., 321-77-3611. United States of America, Army. You are hereby ordered to proceed to the nearest military installation for reclassification, pursuant to reassignment. You are to report to the installation’s Hospital Commander for medical evaluation and physical.

I was afraid of this.

I wondered how long it would take,

Before I was missed.

Seina! The army finally remembered me,

They want me to report to the base,

Immediately.

Oh, Sean, not again?

Don’t they realize all that you have given?

I know honey, it will be okay,

I will run out to the base,

And ask to resign today.

It won’t be long and I will be here,

I will call your mom to help out,

She is a dear.

Sean, it isn’t fair,

We just got you back,

Don’t they care?

I am afraid not sweetie,

I joined them to keep our country free.

My duty to our country is not done,

I still feel I have that obligation.

I will report in to the commander at the base,

Explain our circumstances

And he will review my case.

Chances are I will be assigned to their hospital,

For my remaining time,

But you needn’t worry now, love of mine.

Sean, I do worry. I need you here.

Little Harlan needs you,

Isn’t that clear?

Seina, we knew this when I answered the call,

Now I have to go,

That is all.

I will do what I can?

But you know the drill,

I am an Army man.

I will do what I am asked,

By my Uncle Sam.

SEAN, you just can’t leave again,

I can’t do this one alone,

This just annoys me to no end.

Baby, you aren’t to get upset,

Calm down,

There is nothing to be riled at, yet.

Do I need to give you a sedative before I go?

I need you to stay calm, you know?

I will just run right out there,

Be gone most of the day,

Take my physical,

Let the review my records, mon cher,

Then come back straight away.

It is just a half hour drive to the base,

So I should know something by tomorrow,

Worse case.

Sean, are you sure there is nothing to worry about?

My dear Seina,

You are the most important thing in my life,

If I have to resign, I will. I will get out.

Hello. Wes, this is Sean,

Is Maggie at home?

She is not?

I need someone to be with Seina and the children,

And it is hot.

You will, that is great.

I have to get out to the base,

And can’t be late.

Sir? Yes sir.

They sent me orders,

But I can’t leave her.

You all will be right out?

You all are a God send,

We can’t live without.

Looking forward to seeing you sir.

Okay, Wes, I apologize,

It is a hold over from the army I am sure.

HON, YOUR DAD IS ON HIS WAY!

SEAN, WILL YOU BE GONE ALL DAY?

I DON’T KNOW HON, I’LL HAVE TO LET YOU KNOW.

COME UP HERE SEAN,

YELLING LIKE THIS

ISN’T GOOD FOR ME YOU KNOW?

Oh yeah, I guess I forgot,

These orders have my nerves shot.

Sean should I be worried too?

No babe, I am sorry, I shouldn’t worry you.

Are you sure, I don’t have to worry at all?

I swear honey, as soon as I know, I will call.

There is the front door bell.

MOMMY, DADDY, GRANDPA WES IS HERE,

AND GRANDMA MAGGIE AS WELL.

THANK YOU HONEY,

DADDY WILL BE RIGHT DOWN.

Come here you hunk

And kiss me before you go to town.

Okay babe, get some rest,

I will be on my way,

And hurry through their tests.

Hi Wes, Maggie. Thank you so much for coming over,

I have to run out to the base,

I got orders.

Run along son it will give us a chance for our girls to dote on.

You take care of what you need to do,

If anything comes up, we will call you on your cell phone.

LEANN, LACY I have to go to the base

Come give me a hug and kiss

To send me on my way.

DADDY you are coming back aren’t you?

Baby, I can’t lie to you, I don’t know what they will do.

I am supposed to report for them to run some tests,

Worse case I will be home tomorrow,

though tonight would be best.

Dada, please don’t leave me?

Oh, baby, I will be back…you will see.

Now be a big girl and don’t you cry,

I want to see a smile and those baby blues, clear and dry.

Come here my girls, I love you so,

And no matter where I am at,

That you will know.

Take care of your mom and make her rest,

Mom, Dad…er…Wes, I will see you after the tests.
