Forgiving me this once is all that I ask,

I know it will take time to heal,

But I will show you I am Equal,

To the task,

For I know how you feel.



I know trust is a special thing,

But I assure you this was a one time fling.



I wouldn’t expect you to accept me,

Though I hope in time you do,

The way it used to be,

Before I screwed up and making you blue.



I learned that I am not equipped emotionally,

To carry on an affair,

You know how attuned I am and how much I care.

To care for someone else the way I care for you,

Would tear me apart, would tear me in two.



I understand your pain,

And pray with all my might,

That we find our love again,

And we will be alright.



I have learned this lesson, oh so well,

So on this pain I shall not dwell.

There is pain here, enough for two,

And I swear, from here on, I will make it up to you.
