Sleepless with eyes open and hearts listening, words exchanged in delight

Remarks made to shake ones soul, trembling of tenderness felt within

A smile surrendered to you for making a life glow, surrounded by endless time

You spoke from your heart so openly and new, words that flowed with true feel



We had known each other for a span of only seconds, but lived as if for years

Moments cherished for what they were, symbols of steps taken to the future

Content were we to just hear each others voice, a sign of undeniable care

You gave the best of what you had with simple words, made a man see clear



Tears flow so easy remembering how the nights passed so graceful, a new start

We took a path less traveled and unseen, allowed for what would never be

A small portion of who we really were lives on in those conversations, our lives

Happiness shown in our faces with glowing appeal, real devotion to a new friend



Now nights die out, and pass with an eternal feel, never ending sadness is felt

Once tears of joy now tears of overwhelmed grief, torn spirit and a soul now dies

The nights of old are gone to pass, and left are we with nightmares of reality

The line was crossed and spirits broken, one was shattered and abandoned



With all the feelings and emotions shared, one would have started a new life

But with one swift motion it was all taken back, for given were only words

To bring back those nights I would give my life, to be where I wish is all I ask

Take me there and let me forget what I have now, for to live as I do I rather die
