SOUNDS OF LONELINESS

Sitting in the darkness,

soft sounds in the background,

sounds of music from a distant place,

voices singing of love and happiness

singing of broken hearts and hurt feelings.

Misunderstandings played out in front of everyone.

Keys tapped by fingers looking for a way,

feelings, thoughts, emotions and passions

all needing to be expressed in some new and unique way.

It is ironic that when one is in there zone

the music they make with the keys of some computer key board.

Sitting in the dark, searching for the way to get a message across.

Looking for words that paint a picture, of love and hate.

Lost souls looking for some stability in their world.

For silence to be golden, then don't you think sounds should be as good?

Although this is about loneliness...and is quite touching...somehow I can not imagine you being lonely. It's this "Re'nee" image I have of a strong woman with many friends, aquaintances and relatives.

I really like this poem. You worded it wonderfully. You are very talented. I hope you write many more. Feel free to check out mine, but be warned they are a bit graphic.

Renee, I love this! It's so true of anyone trying to express something. The last two lines are fantastic, and I'm jealous because I wish I'd written them myself.
