Monday of My Summer

Folder:
Nature/Environment

The dawn hasn't come

When it ought to be here

The earth looks so dark

This moment is rare.

The sky is black

Though the stars twinkle bright

I look across to say Hello

To my friends who still sleep by.

It is quiet and serene

Though the crickets come by

Bringing music to my ears

Breaking the stillness of the morn.

As the dawn lifts its shade

For the light to come through

My friends start to perk

Their own music with the dew.

The stars disappear

To the heavens where they stay

The sky is slowly lighting

My morning of this day.

The soft scented air

Meets me with a refreshing touch

Like the love of a dove

It is sweet in my blood.

I can see that summer

Is now fading its lustre

Soon it will be

Autumn I will pray.
