Glow

The glow is gone

Decimated

To a tiny haze

In a blackened dawn -

Relegated

To memories

Of what my regrets

Will spawn...

Yet somehow I pray

The sun shines on other lands.

To watch gardens grow

At the expense

Of my soiled hands.

Let the world rejoice

In the choice she has made

To undo

All the shade I had offered...

I will wait my turn.

It was a burn like no other

That smothered her

With its rays

Until I looked away for a second.

And then the wreck

Was inevitable

As angels of destruction beckoned.

I've peeled away the light

From sun rays

And folded them back into night

Where I will belong

Always...
