I never wanted something,

As much as I want this

As much as I want you,

As much as I want us

I never wanted something

So much that I do whatever it takes

To make sure it doesn’t fall apart

To make sure that it lasts

I never wanted something so much

That it keeps me on my toes

Twenty four hours a day,

Seven days a week

I never wanted something so much

That I lie awake at night

Unable to sleep

Because of all the possibilities

Running through my mind

Like a marathon that never ends

I never wanted something so much

That I snap at those I care about

Because if I mess up once,

That could be the end,

I could lose everything

There is no room for failure

As I do now

I never thought I would want to

Spend my life with someone

I always pictured that I ‘d be alone

but there you are,

The most important thing in my life
