You backed out when I needed you the most

Never to return the same

You could love me again

but you cannot reignite the flame



You walked out the door

Told me that you did not love me anymore

and the tears fell and flooded the floor

Cutting deep into the core



You ran away

Said you could not stand the pain

There was always someone else

Who you chose to blame



and I am supposed to believe

When you walk right through the door

Promising to never leave

and making me go through this once more
