When I first held your hand in mine

I saw that it was love and I felt fine

So I did not know then that we would find the tragic end

Where broken hearts never mend



When I first looked into your eyes

I saw that I fell for you and I found no lies

So I never saw it coming that we would fall apart

When I let you take hold of my heart



When I first kissed your lips

I saw it was grand and something I am glad I did not miss

So I never saw the hurt that we would find

Where it makes you go crazy and lose your mind



When I first told you that you were the one

I thought that you would freak out

but you said that you agreed

and that you did not have a doubt



When I first asked you if you loved me

and I got no reply

I got so hurt and so lonely

because I thought you were the one to stand by my side



When you first told me that we were over

I felt like I would die

because I did know how to react
