Deep inside it burns and stings

The pain of losing him still clings

My heart is empty and full of pain

I would take it back but it would be in vain



Drowning in a sea of sorrow

Sadness is the only thing left for tomorrow

Rip me wide open, let me bleed

As long as you say you love me, because that is all I need



Love is only full of hurt

Because that is the only way it works

Happiness is never more than brief

These eyes are tired and filled with grief



I try to take all the pain away

But it lasts longer than just another day

I let it all fall to my foolish pride

I find no place left to hide



Sadness lurking in the shadows

There are no peaceful meadows

Just a bunch of burning tomorrows

Emptying into the sea of sorrow
