Its taken so much,

To get here from where I was

and I don’t want to lose what I’ve gained

and forget what I learned

but something is not working,

Something needs to change

and I am not sure what that is

I just know there is something that seems to be missing

Hope for the future is not a glimmering light

Its sitting way in the back of my mind,

Dimly lit.

I don’t know where to go from here.

I don’t know what to do.

I’d like to be free from these chains,

The ones that hold me down.

I need an escape.

Some time away.
