Ilhye

I have loved you enough to not forget

the ethereal scent of your morning breath,

the taste of your tongue when it tangles with mine

or how you touch my cheeks

before reaching for a kiss.

I have loved you enough to know

how and where you want to be touched

how every inch of your skin reacts

and you have loved me enough to know just that

You have loved me enough to know

my unsent letters and unspoken words ,

the language of my eyes,

and the rhythm in my lips

You have loved me enough to see

past my worst mistakes

and greatest fears

With your Midas touch

I turned to gold

and everyone else turned to dust

And so as I weave a world

where our hearts can break through fear,

hold me close and just stay here

Because the world I believe in would only be

if you are right here standing with me

My love,

my One,

I have loved you enough

Author's Notes/Comments:

A poem about knowing you finally found a love that's real and something you'd want to stay for. ❤️
