Falklands 82

All colours gone, only the grey.
The face,
in the cold light of day.

Down off that hill.
To the rows of the dead,
awaiting below.

The face,
in the cold light of day.
It was the last time I saw him.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Col. H Jones 2 Para 1982.
I saw him before, and during the battle for Darwin Hill.I helped to carry his body down to the RAP at the rear of Darwin Hill.
It's how I remember him.

Interesting... A nice idea, but a little unclear to what it is talking about. It could be the holocaust, a war, it could be about a lover, a friend, a horse... Interesting.

Its about a sometimes maligned man who at the end of the day paid for his professionalism. He sought to aspire that we, we few ,we band of brothers, should survive, though he might perish.

Paratrooper's don't die........ they go to Hell and regroup!!!
