Love and security are opposites;

in pursing love,

you have to be reckless.

That’s why it’s called

“falling in love”.



It’s not “stepping into love”.

It’s not a testing of the waters

where you just wet your toes

and nothing else.



It’s a full-body descent;

you must submerge yourself completely

and become immersed in

someone other than yourself.



By the same token,

you can’t dive into love.

It’s a voluntary action

and can not be forced

into motion.



If you dive in,

you’re bound to hit your head

on the shallow bottom

and become paralyzed

by heartbreak.



The deepest love

is one between two people

who are willing to be brave

and take the plunge.
