Warm Summer Nights

Folder:
General Love

I heard this song last night;

It reminded me of you

And when we danced to it

Under the stars one summer night.

It was breezy that night

And seeing I was shivering

You offered me your jacket.

Without waiting for my answer,

You draped it over my shoulders.

How the gesture was enough to warm me.

I watched this movie last night;

It reminded me of you

And when we watched it

In the movie theater one summer night.

I remembered the scene

When you leaned closer to me

And asked me if I was cold.

Without waiting for my answer,

You reached across to hold my hand.

How the gesture was enough to warm me.

I dreamt this dream last night

Of how you were still mine.

I've been thinking of

How you used to warm me.

But now it’s winter time,

And I've been feeling so cold.

You are no longer next to me

Asking for ways you can warm me.

Your memory was once what kept me warm

But it's fading, and I'm freezing without you.
