I wrote a couple

new poems last night

but they were

probably not too good

it was a Wednesday night

that felt like a Thursday

because I have Friday off

I never write well

on Wednesday nights

that feel like Thursday nights

because I have Friday off

Of course, I think

about these sort of things

that’s probably why I’m here

and not somewhere else

where I might have

actually have achieved

some measure of success
