Something Beautiful Breaks

Hold on tight because I'm keeping my heart behind a gate and key, couldn't get someone to take enough of it if it was free, I couldn't get someone to fake love with me, heavens just on the other side but its life that sure looks like hell from in between, could we make something beautiful and shoot into the stars on a guess, I owe you nothing but I want love and expect nothing less, could we make something out of this, they tell me loves worth it, I could make love something but I want something made perfect, what a waste of a perfectly good heart left to thirst, oh wait it's not, I thought love was bulletproof until I took my first shot, giving up your heart couldn't get much worse I thought, she asked for a heart I ain't got, what was I thinking, making something beautiful

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote that shortly after the end of something beautiful.

Oh this is so sad... but beautiful and soulful simultaneously...  "...could we make something beautiful and shoot into the stars on a guess..." I absolutely love that

I Concur

That one line says what every line in the poem approximates - "on a guess" is what nailed it for me ~allets~

Love is all about risk, you

Love is all about risk, you chance everyone you let in, your words opened up a better perspective for myself
