A TANKA FOR BEN

Folder:
EXISTENTIAL SATORI

Did he imagine

a bridge of this magnitude

adorned with his name

while he was flying kites

and stashing away pennies

Author's Notes/Comments:

This one was written at a concert at Wiggins Park in Camden, NJ.  There is a spectacular view of the Philadelphia skyline across the river and the Ben Franklin Bridge.  I took a picture of the bridge near sunset.  It inspired this tanka.  I don't know how to upload the companion photo so you'll have to settle for just the tanka.

I'm not the first.  Ben also

I'm not the first.  Ben also wrote a few poems himself.  He had better luck with the ladies than I do.
