Slowly

Love

Slowly, as the setting sun, she watched as he walked away

and felt the hurt ease in to give her nothing to say

slowly, as the setting sun, tears flooded her eyes

as her heart sent out soft and unheard cries

slowly, as the setting sun, he turned into a speck of light

seen still, but no longer there to hold her close and tight

slowly, as the setting sun, she bid him a farewell

and experienced unknown emotions that were quite hard to tell

slowly, as the setting sun, her emotions came soaring through

as she remembered all the times he had made her dreams come true

slowly, as the setting sun, she tried to redeem her courage

at having to face a day alone in this very orphanage

slowly, as the setting sun, she sat down in her chair

and took a deep breath, threading her fingers through her hair

slowly, as the setting sun, she knew she had to be strong

and she hoped these feelings wouldn't stay long

slowly, as the setting sun, she decided to heal her core

as she stood up and straightened the clothes that she wore

slowly, as the setting sun, she wiped away at the tears

and put away the thoughts that were the cause of all her fears

slowly, as the setting sun, she learned to accept it all

the hurt, the anger, soon it all began to take its toll

and then, slowly as the rising sun, she welcomed these emotions as her friends

and at that moment her heart told her: they shall meet again

i really liked this peom that su-su k wrote. i am glad that the girl found her man, but i felt sorry for her when her man left her, but they did meet again. the words are very beautiful, and i hope this author keeps writing her poems.
